A couple weeks ago, I got the chance to travel to Atlanta for a work trip.  While I've driven/been driven around the greater Atlanta area before on route to other locations (Florida), I'd never actually had the chance to get to be downtown in the city and see it for any extended period of time.  While I didn't get as much time for photo taking on this trip, I did get a chance to check out a few of the cool places and overlooks that I wanted to get to that were within relatively easy travel distance from my hotel.  One of the things that Atlanta is known for is its traffic which was definitely evident while I was there, the views pictured from the overpasses were taken at pretty early hours or the morning or late in the evening, but the amount of traffic was still pretty high even by big city standards in my opinion (which I won't complain about as it makes for nice pictures).  Also Atlanta has a fairly famous hotel in its downtown area, the Marriott Marquis was recently used as a filming location for the upcoming Spiderman: Homecoming movie (can be seen at the 1:25 mark in the trailer).  During the trip I had the chance to step into its interior and grab some photos as well, and even with some time spent working on them, they just don't do it justice.  Overall I really enjoyed my time in downtown Atlanta and hope to get back there again to finish up some places on my list of photo locations, but for now I have a good start in the area and have some of my favorites from the journey down below.  Hope you enjoy! This work by JD Maloney is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License.
